Tilbury, Blenheim, Erieau, Ridgetown, Wheatley, Thamesville, North Buxton, Morpeth, Mitchell's Bay, Dawn Mills, Pain Court Chatham high street isn’t great, but youve got Rochester high street not far away if you want little independent shops and a quaint little walk. Please keep conversations constructive and civil. And Rochester is like a 15minute walk away if you prefer that high street. The following is purely my personal opinion: Chatham University is apparently facing a $10,000,000+ budget hole with no easy path out. Getting off at Chatham adds surprisingly large amount of time on the train compared to Summit as the tracks wind through some woods. Politically, Chatham is the most conservative of the three towns, though like many affluent suburbs, it leans Democrat these days. Chatham is not some kind of lawless British Detroit, people don't get knifed and robbed at every occasion like everyone makes it seem. The previous commenter brought up two of the most expensive resorts on the cape, but you can also seek out small b&bs, stay a bit cheaper in a chain hotel somewhere near Hyannis, or if your budget is super tight you could consider camping. Lots of stuff going on (admittedly less this year as the council are skint), pretty good local music scene, lots of history around. And for a school of Chatham's size, $10 million is a massive sum. The only real problem with Chatham is that the high street is boring. Well positioned to travel into London or out to the coast. The rougher parts around Luton Road can get really rough.
